Color Theory: Re Think Pink!

Pink and blush tones in home décor are having a moment. But the color pink has a long history popularized in 18th century fashion when it was worn by both men and women in the royal court. Lady Pompadour popularized the shade with series of porcelain vases that were highly coveted during this time. Pink is a beloved, happy, and tried-and-true color that can be used very successfully in home design. It works beautifully as a color on walls in any room. It creates a warm and soothing environment, and depending on the light, can even create a subtle enchanting glow.

Soft pinks when mixed with neutrals create a very sophisticated feel without feeling stuffy. When mixed with navy blue and white creates a crisp and preppy feel. It is the perfect color to use as an accent to warm up a space and add personality. So go out there and add some pink or soft blush tones to your home, you won’t be sorry!
